TOUR DIARY '99

Portland, OR
Tour Kick-off show (The Blackbird)
This show was great, thanks to all our friends for coming out and bringing the party vibes. We got a little drunk and lost all the patch cords and had to build new ones the next morning. We cut open a telephone box next door to the club and got all these multi-colored wires that we're using to patch all our gear with. The wires are all striped. Oh yeah, we sounded great.

Vancouver, WA
(The Border House)
We opened up for this black metal band that had no drums and played in spurts, but still couldn't find the notes so Gabe jumped on stage and burped the singer. Nice Nice rocked the house with an awe inspiring set.

Seattle, WA
(The Stick Club)
These guys put us up for the night and gave us a big bag of apples. They were pretty nice. We ate apples all morning and then threw the rest at these hobos who started to dance when they saw us. Instead of throwing them back they grabbed the apples and ran into the bushes. Gabe lost his shoes somehow.

Toronto, Canada
(Loose Booth)
Typical warehouse show. Man, the Canadians hate us. Some kids were dancing in the corner and started to make out when we played our "dance" songs.

Denver, MT
(BUster House)
SO, there was this packed house party and all these kids were going apeshit and accidently threw this kid through the window and he landed on a cop car just as it rolled into the driveway! Then a bunch of the kids just took off running because no one knew who's house it was. The party was over and we only had collected $6 for ags money but had all this food that they gave us, just canned goods and loaves of bread and salted fish and stuff.

Springfield, AZ
Two days of driving and my butt fell permanantly asleep. but then it woke up. Good show.

Willardton, MT
Long drive.

LA, CA
(Clitting Factory)
When we got to NY a opened the box of shirts with a knife and accidently cut a big slash in one. At first I was bummed, but I put it on and it looked really cool and someone at the club said, "hey, can I buy one of those shirts?" so i went in the back room and cut up all the shirts and made a sign that said "SHIRTS: $25" and we sold all 45 that night! The show was slamming with all these kids doing a dance together that was like the electric slide but with more butt movements, and we were all laughing. And then the other band playing got really stoned and the drummer fell off his drum stool. We stayed with these kids from Brooklyn who had a big wharehouse space that used to be a jelly bean factory. There were all these vats of colored jell and we dipped the guitar in one and re-strung it and it looks like an intense work.

LA, CA
(Jelly Bean house)
We hung out with those guys all day and had a good time. We had a little party that night and had a big "jam".

Sacramento, CA
(The Dick Club)

The Dick Club was almost empty, but while we played this group of frat guys came in, like 45 of them, and started to mosh us up. Pretty rockin'.

Streeton, CA
(The Busted Will)
We were supposed to play a pajama party, but it was cancelled so we rode "the pony" instead.
